Just a handful of Beagles in action this week as the holiday season continues. A reminder that this week sees the start of the athletics at the Commonwealth Games and we would strongly encourage all our athletes to watch the various events when they can. There are some really inspiring athletes to learn from and it’s a great opportunity to observe them battling for the win!

Watford Open

Three of our athletes travelled to Watford on Wednesday night to run in the 1500m. Making his debut at the distance and running for the first time since his recent injury, Max Sanderson showed his potential with a strong run of 4:43.57. Olivia Forrest competed in a feisty heat giving her great experience of being boxed in and trying to create space. She finished in 4:59.57. Isabel Forrest showed consistency with her recent performances finishing in 5:23.74.

Parkrun and junior parkrun

Our Beagles tackled a range of different parkrun’s this week. On Saturday Jasper Jaycock marginally missed his PB in Brentwood with a good run of 23:27. At Seaford Beach, Mattie Delea showed real strength over the distance with a time of 21:18. Ollie Johnson took on the difficult Harrow Lodge course with a great finish time of 24.35. Olivia and Isabel Forrest ran at Chalkwell Beach with Olivia taking the JW11-14 record in 19.46 and Isabel Forrest finishing in 20:55.

The Harrow Lodge junior parkrun on Sunday was once again dominated by some amazing Beagles running. Congratulations to Evie Warn, Dan Smith, Stephanie Smith, Ollie Johnson, Ollie Trevor, Ezra Gooch, Sheldon Waithe, Olivia Forrest, Isabel Forrest, Henley Jeffery and Hudson Jeffery. A very special mention to Isla Johnson who took 47 seconds off her PB to finish in 12 minutes.

Remember as usual, if your athletes were featured in an event in the last week or so, let us know… better still send a picture and details of their performance and we’ll include them in our next post. Reach us here.
