BRENTWOOD BEAGLES ATHLETICS CLUB

Established and affiliated to England Athletics in 2022, Brentwood Beagles represents a collaboration between Brentwood School and a team of coaches and parents passionate about building an inclusive athletics club for all.  With a focus on both participation for fitness and recreation or in support of other sports and a Performance Academy for those who wish to compete, the club intends to provide a great place to train and excel whether a novice athlete or an experienced, elite sportsperson.

The club has a comprehensive and capable committee in place and the intention in year one is to ensure that we recruit a cornerstone of athletes.  We will have regular committee meetings to ensure that a light touch, politics free governance structure is in place to support our goals.

Being based at Brentwood School affords us access to exceptional track and field facilities supporting sports, hurdles, endurance, throws and both horizontal and vertical jumps.  At this early stage, we will not be focusing on the provision of Hammer or Pole Vault until such time as we are confident of demand and a suitable experienced and licensed coach is available to the club to deal with these two areas.

PARTNERSHIPS AND THEIR VALUE TO BBAC

We have partnered with Lee Middleton.  Lee is an exceptionally experienced and qualified Sports Therapist to support our endeavours.  We have also partnered with US Sports Scholarships to help track and field athletes access scholarships and grant funding to attend University in the USA.  Such scholarships are part or fully funded by the Institutions themselves.  US Sports scholarships will support up to 25 athletes in each discipline per year to access such support.

In addition, we have partnered with RaceUltras Coaching to provide lactate testing, their hugely successful marathon training plans and certified IRONMAN training for athletes interested in endurance events at Marathon distances and above.
