This week a number of our athletes tried something different with a trip to Chelmsford for Sportshall athletics.
Nine of our Beagles went to Chelmsford on Saturday afternoon to compete in the first round of the Essex Sportshall competition. Accessible for all athletes in Years 5-10, this event focuses on some of the basic athletics movements around run, jump and throw with very specific sportshall events such as the over and under race, vertical jump and speed bounce. All athletes compete in four events – one throw/agility, one jump, one run and one free choice. It was a really fun afternoon and definitely a different twist on the normal athletics competitions!
