Parkrun and Junior parkun round up (Saturday 31st / Sunday 1st)

Brentwood Parkrun entertained a bumper crowd of nearly 180 on Saturday with the promise of a chance to be on TV and a rare pacing event drawing in some enthusiastic regulars as well as a host of 1st timers. Despite the unexpected rain, the field was awash with PBs with our own Jude Hearn (18:45 PB) performing exceptionally to finish 2nd and take 5 seconds off his previous best time. Pacing 22 minutes (almost to the second) was Elliot Worth (21:59), finishing 12th overall and helping Ellie Gray (22:05 PB) to a course best, taking 11 seconds off her previous fastest time round the course!  Robert Barke (23:57) put in a good performance to finish 33rd while taking on the tough route for the first time was Ethan Wilson (27:34), finishing a very respectable 73rd.

Over 750 runners were at Chelmsford where regular attendee Adam Armour (21:10) ran well to finish 60th, while by the sea at Southend, the Cottee’s were in attendance, running the route for the first time. All had a great run with Matthew Cottee (24:18) 40thNathan Cottee (26:55) 74th and Owen Cottee (30:07) 112th.

Just the one runner at Billericay as Matt Norris (23:19 PB) picked up a course best by 10 seconds, eclipsing his previous PB from just a few weeks earlier. Finally, at Raphael, Simon Knightbridge* (18:19) ran strongly to take 4th place and an 81.15% age grade, while Keith Thornton (21:02) finished 19th and Matthew Jones (25:00) 76th.

With the club championships on Sunday, just a few Beagles were out taking on the 2k junior events. However, Ezra-Zion Gooch (09:50) finished 17th at Harrow Lodge while at Hutton Rec., a handful runners were out, some warming up for the afternoon event. First home was Elise Gosling (10:20) in 10th, closely followed by Max Morris (10:24) in 11th while Liam Worth (10:42) eased himself round in 13thJoshua Barke (10:50) was 15th and Nadia Price (13:38) 37th.

Well done to all our runners this weekend. Can we please remind you that we can only pick up your results in the parkun club report if you register yourself as being part of the club in your parkrun profile. Unfortunately the club report only works on the Saturday parkruns so we are unable to spot performances at junior parkruns behind the local ones. Feel free to contact us if you need help setting up your profile or if you want to tell us about your run.
