FIRST OUTDOOR BFTTA OF THE SEASON
Some of the Beagles celebrated May Day by heading to the BFTTA open meeting at the Jim Peters Stadium in Dagenham. We had several young athletes in competition for the day with some competing in more than one event.
GETTING IT DONE!
Olivia Forrest ran in the first event of the day – the 1500m. After being interrupted with stray athletes on the track at her last 1500m outing, Olivia was aiming for a sub 5 minute time and achieved this with a new PB of 4:58:86 and finishing first in her age group, second overall.
Next up, and making her Beagles debut, was Libbie Gordon who did the double in the 75M and 150M sprint races. Libbie, U11, clocked very respectable times of 11.74 in the 75M and 25.39 in the 150M. This is a great starting point for Libbie and we were very proud of her for running so well in her first UKA competition.
Finally in the 800M, Nicole Hawkins and Isabel Forrest took on a strong field – and each other! Nicole ran well to get a new outdoor PB of 2:37.55 whilst Isabel finished just outside of her best in 2:43.49.

Well done all! The BFTTA opens are always well run and provide good competition across their events with many athletes travelling nationally to compete against the best in their even groups.
